Happy National Candy Cane Day

Today is National Candy Cane Day, celebrated on December 26th. These red and white striped candies were first made around 1900, and the best-known flavor of course is peppermint.

Did you know that more than 1.76 billion candy canes are made each year? The biggest candy cane ever made was
51 feet long, when a chef from Geneva, IL broke the Guinness world record in September, 2012. His creation was made from a whopping 900 pounds of sugar.

I found these most awesome goodies on a website.....posted just like this: "When we told Santa Claus about these Bacon Candy Canes, he nearly fell out of his sleigh. Then he let out a jolly guffaw and thanked us for saving Christmas. These candy canes are a great Christmas red that blends in seamlessly with standard peppermint candy canes. Do what you will with that information." I think these are hilarious!
So if there are bacon-flavored candy canes, then why not pickle-flavored ones? There are!
Happy December 26th and may the
spirit of Christmas live on.
