Rampside 95 Corvair Truck | 1961 Chevy

In May 2015 I went to the Cambridge Wings and Wheels Show in Maryland and met a local eastern shore resident with a vintage Corvair. What a cool vehicle! It's unique shape makes it interesting as does the history of such a short time in production.

1961 Rampside Corvair Truck...

It has a 1969 Corvair engine...flat six, two
carburetors, 110 versus original 85 horsepower.

They were only produced from 1961 through 1964.
There aren't many of these around in good shape
anymore and it's a great conversation piece!
Honestly, I love the idea of this side door!

The wheel base was shortened to 95 inches hence the name Corvair 95.

Album on my Google+ "Trucks, Vans & Jeeps" Collection

This is a 4 speed manual but they also came with
Power Glide automatic transmissions.
I've seen a few others but not in nearly as
good shape as this one. It was a real treat to
see and photograph this vehicle.
