A Shelter Dog's Afternoon Out: "Lucky"

About my afternoon with Lucky......I volunteer at a local shelter two days a week, usually walking dogs. With the excessive heat this week however, I decided to take my last one of the day out for an adventure instead. In just a couple of hours, my perception of him changed so much; in the shelter he's very energetic and boisterous when you walk by, which might almost make you think he's a wild man (I thought that the first few times I saw him!), but once he gets out he's quite a gentleman.

Adopt, Rescue, Love: Then Learn How to Let Go

I don't think I processed the loss of my amazing, beautiful, cranky, and incredible Lucy last August. Rescued at 3 years old, she took over our home and our lives for a decade, and then left us a year ago. Chase Your Dream

This quote floated across my feed earlier today, and it just struck a chord in my heart....maybe it's because I remember being unhappy in several dead-end, but necessary jobs....or because I could never put into words or actual plans the things I wanted. A dead end road to nowhere....Anger Solves NOTHING

Rage. Bitterness. Anger. These are the ingredients which destroy people; lives, relationships, and trust. Have you ever noticed how some folks would rather stay angry and full of blame, instead of working to talk it out? Haven't we all learned to accept that people aren't perfect? I know I can be quick to snap, or say something rude when mad, but I try really, REALLY hard to stay polite. And I'm 100% okay with admitting when I screw up, because we ALL need to recognize we have flaws.

Hello Month #7 ~ Welcome July

We've made it! Finally the excitement and hubbub of the real summer season is upon us; blazing hot and sunny days; humid, sticky nights, vacations and red, white and blue bunting draped across front porches of our neighborhoods. It's a beautiful time of the year, don't you think?
