Support For Our Small Business Owners (March 2020)

In light of the countless business owners and entrepreneurs who may be facing loss of business due to extended periods of travel bans and cancelled events, let's remember to think of our neighbors and friends. Many retailers and store owners are navigating some difficult times right now and it would be an excellent opportunity to reach out to someone today.

The coronavirus is going to have a substantial impact on places which rely heavily on scheduled activities and tourism, however there are a few ways in which we can pull together and offer support.

• Purchase a gift card to use in the future.
• Buy a larger ticket item you may have been considering purchasing.
• Share a local business Facebook page with your friends and invite others to learn more about them.
• Take a bit of time to catch up on leaving
reviews for your favorite places.
• Sign up for local newsletter or events planned later in the year - and do commit to attending.
• If you dine out,, consider leaving a slightly larger tip for great service.

More than anything, I believe small business owners can easily feel isolated. Let's face it; some of us don't have a big staff and when you're mostly on your own it's easy to feel alone. Call up someone you know who may be starting to worry about an extended shutdown or loss of business and let them know you are there for them.

Thanks for reading and caring. If everyone joins in extending a hand of kindness during these challenging times, together we can weather the storm.
