What's Different Now? (Small Business Loyalty)

It's a few morning after National Mom and Pop Business Owners Day, a bittersweet occasion marked this year by the poignant absence of countless beloved institutions and local favorites, when I caught sight of a cheerleading-type image, While it was similar to the kind I so often create for my own pages and social channels there was something slightly different about this message......and then something began tumbling around in my brain.

This is a great idea!! No....wait.

Weren't all these options available BEFORE our health crisis - yet people chose NOT to support local businesses?

What's going to be different once the shutdown is over and quarantine restrictions are lifted? Why would you support small businesses instead of corporations; choose people over chains? There are 1001 reasons I could give you - facts to share and studies to prove the value of putting your money where you live - but it's going to come down to people wanting to support their neighbors; friends; independent business owners. It's going to come down to regular life choices, seemingly unimportant, daily decisions about strengthening your community.....or just checking out and shopping online.
