I have - and will always - love businesses that come with down-to-earth, genuine, friendly folks. Walking into an eatery like this is a comfortable feeling, where you instantly are made to feel at home, as if visiting a good friend. It's the sort of place you could catch up with the family over dinner, meet for a quick breakfast, or spend a Saturday night with friends enjoying karaoke or music.
The food I've eaten is always good, hot, tasty and on point; sandwiches, breakfast, burgers, chicken finger baskets, salads, appetizers, steak combos, seafood nights, meatloaf, and down home favorites is what you'll find here. I'm no foodie or restaurant critic and don't make any claims about the technical points of dining options, but smiles, good grub and atmosphere are how I rate local establishments, and every time I leave here it's with a smile. The other half routinely meets up with a dozen or more friends here for breakfast, which I miss because I'm not a morning person. 😂 I'm sorry I don't know how to review food specifics better! 😁
Karaoke is one of my favorite nights at the Valor House, hosted by a few different folks on rotating Saturday nights. We've had a blast hanging out for dinner and drinks, with Big Poppa (Mark Mitchell) providing tunes for a lot of evenings, and it's always a good time to bring a couple of friends. There is a bar and pool table in the adjoining party room as well if that's more your speed.
I love that they make the effort to honor our local heroes and first responders. Each of these heroes is incredibly important to our community, and I'm grateful to see them remembered here.

Former History (photo via DelmarvaNow):
Distinctively branded with a giant swirling Coca-Cola sign across the front, the landmark eatery had been in operation since the early 1960s, catering to a local crowd that enjoyed the home-style food it served up. White, 77, bought the dinette in 1988 after working in communications at the Maryland State Police barracks in Salisbury for 29 years. White has put his personal stamp on the place over the years, covering the walls with NASCAR and Coca-Cola memorabilia. He raced cars locally for 20 years and now his son, Kevin, works on a NASCAR pit crew in North Carolina. source: Pittsville Dinette closing after half a century (January 2017)
Here's a couple of pics from 2015-ish I think.
