All About Candy Corn

October 30th: Happy National Candy Corn Day! If you are a fan of these triangles of yumminess, then you may enjoy different color variations all year long, but for many of us, we stick to just the traditional yellow, orange, and white kernels.

Candy corn - can you believe it? - was originally invented in the 1880's by the Wunderle Candy Company. It was popularized - and subsequently linked to Halloween - by the Goelitz Confectionary Company, which began making the treat in 1898. Ever since, there's been a love-hate relationship with these sugary-sweet tidbits of seasonal treats. Some people adore Candy Corn, others are indifferent, but regardless of personal preference, it is a firm staple of October sugar intake.
