Happy National Fruitcake Day, December 27th
When I discovered late last night that today is designated to celebrate the peculiar delicacy known as fruitcake, my little eyes lit up with a sinister gleam. I am prepped for this, I mused to myself, recalling the sarcastic exchanges with friends over the years, as we argued the pros and cons of this weird holiday food - one that sticks in my mind almost the way it sticks in the teeth of those who dare eat it.
