Signs, Logos and Businesses of Ocean City, Maryland (Part I)

Familiar signage and recognizable, favorite places are perhaps the best part of knowing you've arrived back in a place you love. There's something heartwarming and refreshing about rounding a corner in the road or coming across a bridge leading to a special destination which has been a part of summer vacations, memories and yearly gatherings.

I believe that is certainly the case in Maryland's favorite beach town of Ocean City, home to sandy beaches, family owned restaurants and favorite shops. What stands out most to me in this exceptionally cool place located on the eastern shore is the classic signs which have dotted the landscape for decades. Here's a look at some of my favorites - check out the other links at the end of this post for more.

English's Restaurant at 15th street, taken 2014.

Sadly, this location did not reopen again the following season.

It sat quietly empty for almost two years now, and just in March of 2017 began to have a complete transformation into a new restaurant. Not sure yet what it will be.

I did find some amazing old postcards featuring this location

Photo I took in April of 2017

Most of us think "boardwalk" and then "Kohr Bros"...right?
