Reasons to Adopt a Shelter Pet: #14

"Reasons to rescue" ~ When you take the chance on a pet sitting in a shelter, waiting for a home, you are showing others it's cool to be kind. You may be teaching by example, or showing your children how to make thoughtful choices for the greater good, that it isn't always about just "buying", but taking in an animal in need.

Being intentional and thoughtful with our decisions is a big deal - it's a gift we can all give, the willingness to "choose better" - by selecting a pet which may have been failed by humans. Shelter animals aren't broken, or imperfect, but they may have been failed by their humans. Being willing to put the time and effort into restoring a rescue pet's spirit may be one of the kindness and most compassionate things we can do, not just for the animal, but to make a statement that we're opting to make a difference. 😍

There's a phrase out there - "anyone can buy a dog, but the kindest humans rescue" - and that is such truth. Consider doing more good, right where you live, by checking out your local shelter or area rescues to see what kind of amazing friends they have available. 🧑🐾🐾
