"Do more difficult things" ~ this was my phrase back in September, as I returned to a part of my life I'd had to take a break from. Volunteering is a big piece of my world, but for a number of reasons it had been months since I'd been able to help out at one particular place, along with getting back in shape physically.
Each day was tough, and I found myself wondering if it was still "the right thing" for me, if I could manage it, and this phrase was in my head constantly. It IS true, I'm happy to report, that when we push ourselves to achieve more difficult tasks and rise to bigger challenges, they DO get easier, over time, but in that span of days or weeks until we SEE progress.....that is where I think people fall out of the program. Those steps where we just inch along, pushing and crawling our way forward, where success or achievement is barely noticeable, those are the times we question everything - and we don't actually see results, that's where the idea of giving up creeps in.

If you're in a place of struggle or challenge or crawling....stick with it! One does not notice big results from one or three or even seven steps, but it is when those steps added to the next five it ten begin to take shape.....THAT is where change and success begin to emerge.
