December 31st, 2016: "What I Have Learned From the Past Year"

What I have learned from 2016:

• i found out that things aren't often what they seem and that sometimes we confuse reality with the images we have in our minds....

• that some people can't ever, ever forgive, nor would they see any value in doing so....

• i know now that learning the truth later on is often harder than seeing reality years before....

• it's better to be kind than to judge because everyone is fighting battles that you don't know about....

• some folks will call themselves Christians and consider themselves good, honest, caring, kind people....and then can turn on you in a heartbeat because of pride....

• that sometimes you have to turn and walk away, even when it really, really hurts; when it tears you apart, to keep putting one foot in front of the other.....

• i found out that more people struggle with daily burdens, addictions and dark secrets than they will ever admit....

• that kindness takes on many shapes and forms and appears in many ways that you may never of thought....

• now I know that it's okay to finally realize and admit that someone isn't who you had thought; respected; loved....

• that some people will make any and every excuse to cover up their problems, even to the point of tearing you down and blaming everyone else rather than admit their own flaws....

• I know now what some of you may not realize, during this summer and this year, that you were truly were, the wind beneath my wings.

For all of you I wish that you will find peace during your troubled times, strength and laughter to carry you over the difficult ones, and health and joy to comfort you at the end of each and every day.
