Vision Board Day | Bring Your Goals To Life

Coming up Saturday, January 8th is "National Vision Board Day", focused on creating a physical road map of targets, goals and ideas for the year ahead. Think "mood board meets collage" type of artistic endeavor, but without needing to be artistic at all!

About This Date:
National Vision Board Day was made official by Kellan Lutz and Ryan Daly in June 2015. It is celebrated annually on the second Saturday in January. The origin goes back even further though, to 2010 when it started out as groups of friends gathering together to dream their dreams out loud. They created the idea of making a visual representation of the goals they wanted to achieve on a board and hanging it on a wall. Having a daily reminder of what their goals were would ensure they would stay on the right track of making decisions to make those a reality. Source: Holiday Smart

My personal goal in working on this today was to divide up various tasks and prioritize things for the year ahead, such as marketing development, new content topics, etc. I thought creation of a vision board would help solidify my intentions and make these objectives more concrete - since while they seem realistic now, everyone knows that post-January things begin to look a lot more complex. (Am I right!?) Your board can be anything you choose for it to resemble or include - the idea is to toss out concepts and topics and notice which ones stand out most or which will require some more complex planning. NOTE: I am not an artist but in this case I figured I'd just wing it in the spirt of looking ahead for the year!

Fun Ways to Celebrate:
Host a vision board day party with your friends. Gather around and discuss goals you wish to achieve and offer guidance to your friends on ways they can reach their goals. Be an inspiration to each other and an accountability partner to ensure you are always keeping the end goal in sight. Make it a group activity by having supplies like magazine clippings and stickers and make them together. Help to inspire others by posting your vision board on social media for others to see. How this Holiday Unites People:
Everyone has a dream. There’s not a single person out there that does not envision a better future for themselves. This holiday can help break down those barriers of competition and comparison by allowing people to work together and share their ideas and dreams. By sharing your dreams, you may realize someone has the same goals as you and you can work together to make them a reality. Or you may have the means to be able to help someone else reach their goal. We all have our own individual talents and network, and by working together anything is possible. Source: Holiday Smart

I hope you find yourself eager to start out creating a visual template for 2022! I'm undecided if I'm just going to create a digital version on the computer or if I'm really going to dig out some papers and glue and get to actual messy making of a real board. Good luck with your project and thanks for stopping by!

Sincerely,
Andrea
