We Are All Our Brother's Keeper

Monday, January 8th: Just eight days into a new year, we should be looking forward with excitement and hope.... instead, a community is just trying to find the strength to get though today. This is a time when schedules are being made, goals set, and plans decided for the next twelve months.....but instead, a family, loved ones, and coworkers are facing the worst days imaginable.

Check on your people, the ones who are always there, the ones who make you laugh, the ones who seem invincible. Maybe they are that way because it's the only way they know to cope or deal with what is gnawing at them inside, so maybe you'll never reach them when they are hurting or breaking apart....but maybe you will, and can catch them as they fall. If we don't try we'll never know if we could be of help before someone hits rock bottom.

Please, take a minute to wrap your arms around a friend, coworker, neighbor, or classmate, send a text, or make a quick call. We all struggle to admit our battles; are afraid to ask for help, become isolated and forget people are there, because we are human, but that's when the power of each little connection could mean the world.

Doors are always open, phones are on, judgement is nonexistent. Love to all who may be struggling in some way..... we got you, and you have us.
